Consulted with local travel agent who recommended the Argenta Tower given my champagne tastes and imported beer budget. She secured a suite at the Argenta Tower for US$100 per night.
The hotel is in an excellent location between the upscale Recoleta area and the shops of Calle Florida and the trendy Puerto Madero. In addition, there is a supermarket just around the corner where you can secure everything you would want.
The suite did indeed have separate living area and bedroom with a mini-kitchenette subtly tucked in between that included a refrigerator, stove, microwave, pans, utensils, etc. There were TVs in both the living room and bedroom. The only downside would be that the rooms could be a little better decorated, but that is the only criticism separating it from a five-star review.
Staff was very helpful and conversant in English. They accommodated every request graciously--whether it was for a electric converter, currency exchange or taxi.
In summary, following are the strengths and weaknesses of the hotel:
Strengths: Location, price, room space, room quality (except decoration), excellent staff
Weaknesses: Room decoration, smallish pool area
