“A Nice Get-Away”

Getting away from the hustle of the city and spending a day at this estancia is a treat. You'll be picked up for about $120 rt so try to arrange it with another couple. Bonnie, the gracious guide will great you with wine and cheese. Unfortunately, it's succumb with flies, but you'll try to overlook it because of her graciousness. Next, you'll be fitted with gear and ride the beautiful trails in an estounding setting.

You'll feast on a variety of meat, salad, and dessert. Again, grab quickly before the flies become overwhelming. (you'd think they'd use Citronella candles or netting.) You'll then ride again and do some trotting.

Later, you'll relax on hammocks or take a swim. You'll be entertained watching the well taken care of dogs, and pity the malnourished cat with her hungry kittens, that must find food on their own. Many of us fed them our lunch.
Aside from the flies and starving cats, you'll be happy you spent a day there.

In advance of our April 29 visit, the owner of the estancia, Ana Pena invested an amazing amount of time, patience and effort to accomodate my family's rather complex special dietary needs.

Truthfully, we expected her to bow out of the planning process as it became quite detailed and demanding, but she chose to stay the course!!!! Suffice to say, we were grateful that she was able to integrate our 'special' meal into the overall ranch experience.
And with the quiet assistance of one of her friends, Alberto, who was quite familiar with our dietary situation, the execution was as smooth as the planning. Kudos as well to Veronica for the actual food preparation.

Our guide for the day was named Bonnie, ably assisted by the gaucho Don Juan. While she was new to the ranch, Bonnie exuded the confidence and easygoing and engaging manner of someone who had been there many years. She definitely transcended the normal and expected role of guide, to be our friend for the day. We appreciated her flexibility in slowly ramping up my kids' requests to go faster, as the day progressed.

Our overall experience is similar to other reviews- lowkey, simple, authentic, friendly. There is no hype, no frills, no upselling at this ranch, which we found quite refreshing.

Expect to be startled 12 hours after your ride, that you have lower back muscles that you had no idea ever existed before your ride at Los Do Hermaos!!!

We recently spent a perfect day at Estancia Los Dos Hermanos. After several exhausting days touring Buenos Aires, we were so happy to spend a relaxing day and night at the estancia. We were picked up by a private car at our B & B in Buenos Aires and driven (about an hour) to the estancia. There, we were warmly greeted by Ana and shown to our little adobe cabin where we would spend the night. After enjoying drinks and freshly made empanadas we were shown to our horses. Each horse was chosen for the guests based on riding experience--from beginner to more experienced. We rode on the estancia property for about 2 hours and returned for a huge lunch. The lunch table was set up under the trees and we were served various courses including several cuts of beef. All of the guests agreed that it was the best beef in Argentina! Also available was wine and beer as well as a fabulous dessert. After a brief siesta we were back in the saddle again! This time we rode off the property and were gone about 2 hours. When we returned we were served coffee, tea, and homemade donuts. At this time, many of the guests departed, but since we were spending the night, we enjoyed a walk and some hammock time. Dinner was served in the main lodge which was pasta, fresh fruit, wine, beer. When we returned to our cabin, a fire had been started for us. We were tired after our long day of riding but hated to fall asleep so sat by the fire in our cozy house. This day was the highlight of our Argentina vacation.

We spent one day and night at Estancia los Dos Hermanos and we had a wonderful time. Like the previous reviewer, were the only guests they had that day, so my wife and I went riding with Bonnie as our personal guide. Bonnie's pretty new to Dos Hermanos, but not to horses. She's spent years riding and training polo ponies, and she was a great teacher and guide.

After a few hours of riding, we sat down with Bonnie and ranch co-owner Pancho for the best empanadas we ate in Argentina, as well as a delcious steak lunch. We took an afternoon siesta in hammocks under a shade tree and then rode some more in the afternoon. We spent the night at the ranch, where we enjoyed an delicious dinner with great wine. Not only do I highly recommend a riding visit to this estancia, but I suggest doing it with an overnight stay.

My friend and her mom and I recently spent three weeks in Argentina. The last leg of our trip was in B.A. After spending the previous two weeks in various countryside settings throughout Argentina, we were needing an outdoors fix again after almost a week in the city. Of course we were a bit nervous about the place, as we were going solely on reviews--but they were mostly all good. Also, I had some trouble at one point in reaching Ana via email, but that was due to what we learned is the nature of using the Internet sometimes in Argentina. It just goes out...Anyhow, I called instead and all was confirmed. A car comes to pick you up and then takes you to the ranch. We went on the gaucho's day off, so our riding experience was with the second hand man, Alejandro. We had a great time riding, but the day was made even better by the fact that the simple food was actually some of the best we had in all our travels: homemade empanadas and good, good steaks, served sizzling and also by the fact that the host family was so much fun to hang out with. We went on a day where we were the only people riding...the previous day they had a large group. So after our first ride when we returned to eat, Ana and Pancho's children and their friends arrived to eat as well and visit. They sat down with us and we passed the time talking with all of them. Really an awesome time. The scenery was beautiful and peaceful, but I have to say that it was the company and the ease of the people at the place that I think made it special...we didn't just feel like tourists, we felt like guests. Highly recommended. I'd love to return to this place.
