We had a wonderful weekend at Estancia Los Dos Hermanos, and would strongly recommend it for others.
For $120, a driver will pick you up and return you to Buenos Aires. The car is a nice Puegeot with a good driver. Our weekend cost 3,000 Argentine pesos (US$1,000) for 2 nights, 3 days of riding (2 rides a day), and all food (breakfast, lunch, dinner, wine, etc). This was paid in cash. This was for 3 people (husband, wife, and 10-year-old daughter). Initially, I thought that sounded expensive, but it the end, I think it was well worth it.
The food is good, not spectacular. The accommodation was very interesting. The property seems to have several houses, cottages, scattered around, and we had one of those houses (3 bedrooms). Everything was spotless clean, not 5-star glamorous, but nice. It was Argentina winter - and the staff kept a big fire going in little house.
The real reason to come here is the people and the horses. The guys who lead the trail rides were fantastic. Pancho & Ana (owners) are wonderful. The other guests during our were extremely fun and interesting (couple from the British Embassy; Air France Flight attendants; investment banker, visiting medical doctor).
You eat collectively with everyone visiting that day - and this was really fun.
I am a poor rider - so were almost all the others. The guides were extremely careful with us and the horses most obedient. If you have never ridden before, you'll still be fine here. My daughter, on the other hand, is quite a good rider. So, they separated her from the others, gave her a guide of her own -and off they went. So I think they can handle any ability level.
If we return to Buenos Aires, Los Dos Hermanos is the first thing we would do again. It's lovely, charming, fun, and safe.
