My overall impression was jaded by all the positive reviews I read, so perhaps my expectations were a bit higher than they should have been. When the driver pulled up to the front of the place, both my buddy and I had the same reaction...surely this can't be the place. The curb appeal is to be generous, minimal at best. The front yard was all torn up and had smoldering tree stumps burning. The backyard was also somewhat torn up. I guess renovations were in progress. The rooms were spartan, but clean. Breakfast was pretty disappointing. Ok, the guy makes his own jams..but cold, hard toast and a cup of coffee was a bit of a disappointment. I was waiting for more, but it never came. This area of the Secret Garden definitely needs some upgrading. It is billed as a B&B after all! To be fair, the owner John is a very nice guy and very personable. He arranged a great driver which I would highly recommend..Overall it was a good value but could be improved with a modest but decent breakfast. I recommend the Secret Garden, but don't expect Shangri La as some of the other postings seem to imply. As a side note--Don't go to Paraguay, it's dangerous and expensive in the only duty free shop.
