Wasnt sure what to expect as there had been mixed reviews previously so expected a bit of a dump.

I cant really describe the hotel really. The rooms had been recently renovated (ish) but in a cheap way and seemed very "motel" in its style. We were supposedly in the newer part but it wasnt really. Our room was right outside the air conditioning unit which was loud at night and the lack of security meant that we didnt really feel safe at night in the rooms and please what was that awful smell in the hotel (like cheap polish). Our tv didnt work and we got bitten to death in the night by bed bugs. Never again.

It seemed much more of a bag packers hotel than a family one I have to say and our one plus for booking the hotel was the on site coin laundry service was out of service when we arrived and the other (the pool) was being painted during our stay

On the plus side, the location was convenient (although we did have a car) and we had a lovely meal at the diner in the evening.

Wont be coming back (we nicknamed the hotel the Hollywood hotel of horrors).

The service was good and the room was clean. The bathroom was actually completed remodeled with a nice double shower and granite countertops which was a surprise. But it's close to everything, affordable and clean.

I loved this hotel the minute I arrived. It is not the newly renovated room that attracts me, and it is not your wonderful location and gorgious bathroom that pleases me. It is your wonder staff who makes me feel so welcome and happy the minute I walk in to your hotel. I loved your staff from the minute I check in, they are so accommodating and friendly, and in the morning, your cleaning crew work so hard to keep every single room so refreshed and clean. One of the housekeeper told me she has been here for 40 years. That tells me the management must be doing everything right to keep all these happy and sweet crew working so hard everyday. Congradulations on your hardwork because you have done a good job to keep customer like me so happy and content. I have lived in the Ritz Carlton in New York City, Four Seasons in Maui, W, Westin and you name it 5 stars in other places of the world. Your little Best Western Hollywood Hill really catches my heart and I would like to thank you so much for such comfortable stay. I love this type of hotel where you will not need to wait for an hour to receive your extra sheets or towels and then had to tip generiously otherwise the billman looks at you funny. I never have to wait for more than 10 minutes for anything I requested. The houseman would cater anything at your wish in a second and will never expect to receive a tip. I love down to earth places and people like you. You are fabulous and yes, I will recommand your hotel to everyone who is comming to Hollywood or UCLA and thank you so much for your friendly and cute hotel.

I was really hesitant about booking this hotel due to the other reviews. It turned out to be a very pleasant stay and I had no problems at all. This hotel is actually two different buildings. There is the old main hotel and the newer (but by no means new) "pool building". I stayied in the newer buidling and found it has been updated and was very clean. The room itself was very nice and decorated in a Hollywood theme. The bathroom was great with a double headed shower in a very large shower stall.
It wasnt in the nicest area but then there are not really a lot of nice areas near Hollywood. I would book this hotel again.
