Got reservations thru hotels.com for $99 a night plus a $50 gas card refund. Hotel is clean and well kept. The beds are wonderful. The rooms towards the rear back up to the highway and the pool is next to the highway so there is the noise factor. Breakfast was good. Staff excellent. The room air conditioner was noisy and woke me several times at night. You can walk to IHOP or TacoBell and others. Right out front is the I-trolley pickup. For only $1 you can ride up and down International Blvd. and stop at the many attractions and shopping areas. Ride all day for $3. You cannot walk to Universal from this hotel, forget it. The trolley stops near Universal. Universal parking is $12, after 6 pm its free. You can save some money staying here. Nice place, good location.

I accompanied my daughter to Orlando for a conference and we scanned all the sightsand reviews to try to find a place to stay for five nights. We looked for places close to Universal as we were planning on going there. We were going to have a rental car, but still wanted to be close so we might not have to pay for parking to go there, plus places close to restaurants to walk to. I think we made a great choice. Although it is close to Universal...it would be a very long walk and will have to cross a busy street(although they have crosswalks). Still with the hot temps and the long walk to the actual entrance I would not recommend it especially with children. You can take a taxi for about $7, THe hotel adverises a shuttle, but the times to go there are very limited and did not work for us...I think they should say it is limited choices of times for the shuttle. We ended up taking a taxi there and using the shuttle to go back to the hotel......worked out great. The return shuttle left Universal at 10:15 and we always were able to get a seat....although we did get there about ten mins. early.... There is a Tolley site across the way that takes you to various places in the area...so it is nice if you don't have a car.
Some reviews indicated there Weren't restarants within walking distance, but there were several. One was Carabbara's an Italian one, Dominos, Ihop, A sub place, mexican one and a convience mart all very close and very walkable. There were many others within a very short drive.
There are many shopping malls/factory outlets,etc. within a short drive or on the Trolley.
As far as the comfort of the hotel...it was great. Very clean, breakfast was good choices for a hotel of this type. I used the fitness room on site...it had a treadmill, eliptical and a bicyle...with a Tv available. Across the way was a compter room with 2 computers....i usually didn't have a wait for any of these. I used the pool one day...it was small, but clean and water temp was perfect. All the employees were friendly and helpful. I would stay there again...I usually am always satisfied with Hampton Inns. The room had a safe, ref. micro.iron,etc. Very comfortable beds, linen, pillows. I was very satisfied and don't think you would be disappointed either!

My family stayed at Hampton North in June and had a wondeful time. This Hampton offered a very clean, comfortable room within a 2-minute drive to Universal. The pool was nice. Free computer use was a big plus and the breakfast was great. There was never a shortage of anything and the hotel was booked solid while we were there.

A tip for those driving over to Universal... when exiting the parking structure, always stay in the right lane for the quickest route back to the hotel. I made the mistake of turning left and ended up on International Drive which is a nightmare on a summer night with all the traffic.

They offered a free shuttle to Universal at 8:15 each morning, but we chose to drive. Adults and older children could walk the distance but we did not because we had a small child.

We would definitely recommend this hotel. Even though it's in the heart of the action, the atmosphere in and around the hotel is calm and peaceful. A great place to relax after a busy day at Universal.

My family frequents Hampton Inn's thoroughout North America and like all other Hamptons we've been to, this one has proven again to keep up with the standards of the name. From the welcoming front desk service, to the cleanliness of the room and the comfort of the beds and overall service. We would definately stay here again. We spent 4 nights at this location during a 1 week stay in Florida.

They offer excellent breakfast and unlimited coffee/tea during the days & nights. This comes in especially handy when you have two little kids who are hungry in the morning. It saved us from having to go look for places to eat each morning. We had quite an early flight to catch on the last morning of our stay and they had breakfast ready by 5:30 am. The front desk staff gladly handed us bags to fill up on anything that we wanted to take with us.

The only down side i can think of was that the pool need a little cleaning. Other than that it was awesome.

I'm always happy with Hampton Inns, and this one is definately on my list to go again in the future.
