OK, I was looking for a cheap hotel to stay in advance of my travelling companion turning up to share on the hotel costs. I was also conscious that I needed this cheap stay over the weekend when Vegas is at its most expensive. The idea of staying downtown then was a brainwave to cover the weekend and then I moved to the Strip for fantastic midweek rates by which time my friend had appeared.
The Fremont was the perfect base for downtown. It was £30 / $60 for a Friday and a Sat in June and was just fantastic for the price. The place was clean and safe and right on Fremont St so you could nip down for the hourly light shows of an evening. The room was clean and tastefully if economically decorated. There was one Queen bed as there would not have been room for two beds and the room would have been fine for a couple - and was certainly roomy enough for one. The bathroom was small but roomy enough for two I would have thought - especially if one of you was in the shower! Btw, it was shower only, no bath. The room was spotless. Ice down the end of the hall. Safe in the room. I really couldn't fault the hotel. A brilliant bargain and I would recommend it whole-heartedly. Staff were very friendly.
