I stayed at Harrah's in June 2008 for five nights. The hispanic hotel desk clerk was excellent. She gave me a choice of rooms. A room with a view and possible noise from a live band or a room in the back with no view but quiet. I choose the room with no view.

It was very nice and updated. BUT...It was HOT. Whenever I left the room the A/C automatically shut OFF. It was 107 degrees one day. I came back to the room and the temp. was 80 degrees. It took until 6 am for the room to cool off before the temp reached 70 degrees. Sleep was next to impossible.

I spent about 1000$ at the slots in Harrahs. I didnt even get play money. The drink service was excellent though.

The buffet was ok. But nothing special. The sandwich shop near the poker room is pretty good and filling.

“Great Stay At Harrah's”

We stayed at Harrah's from 8/17/08 through 8/21/08. After reading some of the reviews we were skeptical but after arriving we wondered what the bad reviews were for. We've been to vegas for the last 4 years this was our first stay at Harrah's and also the first year we arrived and didn't have to wait for our room to be ready. Check in was at 4 and we arrived about 30 minutes early but still the room was ready. We stayed in the Mardi Gras tower in a newly rennovated room. The room was kind of small but still very nice and clean. Everyone working at this hotel that we came in contact with was extremely helpful and friendly. Housekeeping was excellent. Will definitely stay here again.

Even though I was comped my rooms for 4 days at Harrahs I was really dissatisfied with the condition of the hotel. It is really run down. To say that the casino is smokey would by a gross understatement! I was a smoker and can tolerate some...but this place reeked of stale smoke....you couldn't stay there for more than 5 minutes without smelling like an old bar.
We checked in late on a Saturday nite...despite a guarantee of a luxury room....(which according to their website has a view of the strip)...we were assigned a handicapped room that was seriously in need of a makeover. The bathroom featured a hand held shower head with a drain in the middle of the bathroom floor...not very sanitary at best. I stayed with it due to the hour and went down the next morning for a new room. We were assigned a luxury room on a renovated floor...which was somewhat better but no view of the strip....whatever........
The hotel has a great location.....but the atmosphere was choking...the food was just so so...it was run down.....stayed at the Flamingo the year before on the same kind of deal and had a GO Room which was great!
The pool area was a joke.......It was a small pool with little or no atmosphere....compared to other hotel pools this was a 1 on a scale of 1-100. I would say if you are paying for a room at Harrahs...look elsewhere....if you are being comped by Harrahs properties.....look elsewhere....the place really needs a rest.

“Nice Rooms...Crappy Comps!”

Harrahs has nice big rooms, including a pretty good size bathroom. Very easily fits 4 people comfortable. Played there allweek with severalfriends using the same card, and only received like $11.00 for room comps...no buffets, shirt, nada! The Hotel staff was friendly, and the waitresses always were there with the drinks while we played. The Spa was nice and clean also. They give you a pretty good deal on the rooms after you gamble, but don't expect much of a discount while you're there gambling at the endof your stay.

My family visited from the east coast and we booked 2 rooms at Harrah's on-line about 3 months in advance. The prices were great and the rooms were way above average. They looked as though they'd been recently remodeled w/ updated bedding, etc. I have 3 complaints: 1) the loooong walk from elevator to our rooms (minor, I know) 2) the nasty breakfast at the cafe (instant, runny eggs.....disgusting & pricey!) 3) Rooms weren't ready when we got there and they weren't promised until between 4pm & 6pm. We had to check our bags with bellhop so couldn't use the pool or change our clothes....had 7pm show to attend too. Room was ready at 5:45pm....what a rush to get freshened up to get to show on time!!! All-in-all, stay was good and will stay there again.
