We have being staying at the Harrah's properties for the past 10 years, mostly at Harrahs. We have never had a bad experience at this hotel and usually have our rooms comped. The friendliness of the staff out weighs the slightly older feel of the hotel. The comps don't seem to be as good as they used to, rarely offered a free weekend night. The Venetian just sent us an offer for 3 free nights and most weekends are included. We will be going in Sept, and thinking this is going to be so much nicer than the other hotels , I will write a review when we return.

“Not a Bad Stay”

Harrah's Las Vegas Casino & Hotel

I stayed at Harrah's from August 19th to August 21st for the first two nights of my vacation. I had a comp offer to stay either here, Imperial Palace, or Rio but decided to stay here since the other two were already booked with the offer.

Room

The room was in the Mardi Gras tower, which is closer to the Strip and a quick walk away. It also overlooked the Mirage volcano pit (too bad it was under construction). I had an issue with the air conditioning because it would turn off if no motion was detected. This was especially annoying when trying to get a good night sleep and hearing a loud fan going on and off every 20 minutes. The sign in the room said that Harrah's was trying to be "green", but it is not efficient to keep turning the AC on and off. I can understand while you are out of the room in the daytime but not while trying to sleep.

Amenities

The pool is rather small and it was challenging to get a seat. It seemed like they had too many VIP seats that required an extra charge. The free shuttle to the Rio is a major plus. Good times were had at the Carnaval Court. The Total Rewards card is one of the best in the business and is valid at many casinos across the country. Very helpful staff.

Overall

The location is great and I would consider staying again if I had a comp. Stay here if you are looking for a reasonably priced room that is close to everything. They should do something about the AC in the room, though.

“Great Stay”

Stayed at Harrah's 8/15 to 8/18. First time there and I anjoyed my visit. Other reviews have noted the outstanding customer service at this hotel and I agree. Everyone I encountered during my stay were pleasant and helpful. Room ok and clean. Room service so-so. Flavors buffet above average.
I would recommend this hotel for those looking for an affordable, centrally located hotel. Casino was fun.

I stayed at Harrah's in June 2008 for five nights. The hispanic hotel desk clerk was excellent. She gave me a choice of rooms. A room with a view and possible noise from a live band or a room in the back with no view but quiet. I choose the room with no view.

It was very nice and updated. BUT...It was HOT. Whenever I left the room the A/C automatically shut OFF. It was 107 degrees one day. I came back to the room and the temp. was 80 degrees. It took until 6 am for the room to cool off before the temp reached 70 degrees. Sleep was next to impossible.

I spent about 1000$ at the slots in Harrahs. I didnt even get play money. The drink service was excellent though.

The buffet was ok. But nothing special. The sandwich shop near the poker room is pretty good and filling.

“Great Stay At Harrah's”

We stayed at Harrah's from 8/17/08 through 8/21/08. After reading some of the reviews we were skeptical but after arriving we wondered what the bad reviews were for. We've been to vegas for the last 4 years this was our first stay at Harrah's and also the first year we arrived and didn't have to wait for our room to be ready. Check in was at 4 and we arrived about 30 minutes early but still the room was ready. We stayed in the Mardi Gras tower in a newly rennovated room. The room was kind of small but still very nice and clean. Everyone working at this hotel that we came in contact with was extremely helpful and friendly. Housekeeping was excellent. Will definitely stay here again.
