Have stayed at the MGM Grand serveral times before, and have had, some issues with poor service etc, However I must say
they have improved considerably, during our week end everything was great, Friendly and helpfull staff. It is good to see
this, and goes to show that the staff do make a major difference,
and can be let down by just one poor member !
This is a large Hotel, Rooms were fine ,the Pool is great especaily the Lazy River, but keep away from the bottom end where there new Pool Club is ( called Republic I think ), It pumps out so much load music, it gave me a headache !! FIne if you like that sort of thing , but we dont !
We eat in the Craft Steak, Food was good, but it it way way overpriced, I dont mind paying for good food, but we left feeling we had been ripped off, and will certainlly not return, The group next to us actually shared 2 steaks between 4 as it was so exspenisve !!

We stayed at the MGM Grand August 10-15. Overall, our experience was very good. The beds were the most comfortable that we have ever slept in! The pool was great. We spent a lot of time in the lazy river. It was a little bit of a walk to get to the pool, but hey, its Vegas, what do you expect?
Our only complaint is that the restaurants were way out of our budget. We only ate a few meals at the hotel because it was difficult to find something reasonable. The deli, the breakfast buffet and the Grand Cafe were all good, but it would be great to have more restaurants that were affordable.
We also ate at the Grand Wok. This was very expensive and I didn't think that it was very good, however, my boyfriend got sushi and said it was delicious. The pizza place in the food court was very good and affordable.
Overall, we will stay there again.

Stayed for 3 nights with 2 kids aged 8 and 5. Fast check-in. Room was great. The hotel is huge but everything is well sign posted. Good base for seeing vegas - it's on the monorail line so it's easy to get to other hotels further up the strip. We had the buffet breakfast one morning which had loads of choice and the Rainforest cafe one day for lunch - great place, especially if you've got kids. The only one downfall we found was the pool areas - we picked the MGM mainly because of the big pool areas - however, all of the pools and especially the lazy river, were packed full of teenagers standing around drinking . Having said that there was no trouble, but not the best place for kids to be.

All in all, would definitely recommend this hotel and other than the pool scene, it would be hard to find fault.

We came to Vegas during the Fourth of July holiday. Our preference, The Bellagio, was booked for the first part of our trip so we had to stay at MGM for the beginning of our trip before transferring to Bellagio. That was no big deal, but I wish we would have chosen a different hotel!

We arrived and started the trip with some issues with the reservation. Apparently, we had requested a room in the main section of the hotel, instead we were placed about thirteen miles out. (It felt that way). The front desk was not apologetic or accommodating.

The walk to the room was depressing. Not only did it seem to take forever, but the hallways are dark, dank, depressing, and there were so many stains on the carpets!

Once we finally arrived at our room, out of breath, we see that another guest left their overflowing garbage bin in front of our door. I can’t even tell you what was in the garbage, let me just say biohazard and medical waste. We called to have it removed when we got in the room. Again, no apology.

The actual room, while was very very small, was clean and modern. A cool tiny flat screen tv was built into the bathroom mirror. However, the room was so tiny, that it was not comfortable at all. The sheets had a hole in them. The lay out was also brain-dead. As soon as you open the door from the hallway, you’re immediately in the bathroom. No bathroom door at all. The sink is right there and then two frosted glass doors next to the sink. One for the commode and the other is the shower. Huh? I was in the shower the next morning when our room service arrived. While the glass shower door is frosted, there is no real privacy. As soon as the hotel room door opens anyone in the hall can look right into the shower and commode.

As we were walking in the hall, we passed another room as the couple was walking out of their room. We overheard the female comment “GoodBye tiny, non functional room”. Perfect description.

It seems like a lot of younger or party people stay here, as I kept waking up from loud people parting and yelling in the hallway at night.

I can’t comment on anything else regarding the hotel. The front desk experience, ugly and depressing hike to the room and the cramped room resulted in an immediate check out and to a different hotel.
