My group of 10 golfers was very excited to play Wolf Creek as one of 6 courses over 4 days. While the views are spectactular, it's not really a golfer's golf course, in my opinion. Our group's handicaps range from 2 to 7, and to a man, we felt that the course didn't really lend itself to good golf.
The word "extreme" was the most common description of the course in our group. There are 3 or 4 really good holes at Wolf Creek, but the rest seem to be extreme for the sake of being extreme...which is fine. It's just not a place that's built to reward quality golf shots as much as treat the eyes and make you wonder how in the world they built the place! The biggest problem with playing here was the 6 1/2 hour round, likely due to the extreme setup of the course for the average golfer.
Having said that, I would absolutely recommend the place to any golfer at least once, as the "moonscape" layout really is stellar to see. Just make sure to book a few rounds at the other area courses so you get to play a few good rounds of "real golf" as well.
