We were stranded at DFW with a cancelled flight ten o'clock at night with the airport closing and nowhere to go. Refusing to panic, I remembered being very favorably impressed with the airport Hyatt in San Francisco, so in spite of my airline's attempt to steer me to the Holiday Inn in North Dallas, I called the Hyatt at DFW anyway. I was happy I did. The hotel was beautiful, the room was great, and we enjoyed the bar after we checked in (we needed a good bar after the travel "adventure" we had just had) and we liked the Mexican breakfast in the hotel restaurant the next morning. All in all, the hotel salvaged a bad travel day and turned it around. We took off the next day for our final destination in a much better state of mind and wallet. They did undercharge for the room since we checked in late--gave us the Holiday Inn price for the Hyatt experience. So if I end up staying at an airport hotel again, I will definitely look for a Hyatt first, if they have one.
