The Cactus Club serves the sort of food you would expect at a Chi-Chi’s or a Don Pablo’s – only better. The food doesn’t seem particularly authentic, with everything slathered in cheese, but it’s all really really good. Prices are also comparable to these familiar chains – $10-12 per entrée, and $5 margaritas.
The decorations are tasteful but still vibrant, and the place has a cheery red and green and purple color scheme. Even the complimentary tortilla chips (fresh, hot and tasty) come in shocking shades of red and green.
While the staff may claim that their margaritas are legendary, they’re really just above average. They’re not so cloyingly sweet as the ones you’d find at one of the chain restaurants, but they still don’t have the sour-tequila bite of a really great margarita.
