We just spent 5 nights at the Luana Inn, and it was the perfect spot for a quiet and beautiful getaway. The location was far away from the super-touristy strips, and yet amazingly close to some of the best snorkeling ever. The owners are a lovely couple who are very thoughtful and attentive; they have such a wonderful approach to the bed and breakfast. From the lovely fresh and local breakfasts they made every morning, to the reusable shopping bags they provide in the rooms, to the kitchenettes with everything you could need, the Luana Inn really made it just so easy to relax and have a great time. They provided beach and regular towels, beach mats, boogie boards, a restaurant guide with personal reviews and a full BBQ, and they had snorkel gear to rent for a tiny fee for the week. Basically they took all the guesswork and stress out of the vacation which allowed so much more time to have fun and relax and enjoy this beautiful island.

This was our second stay in as many years at the Luana Inn and we once again had a wonderful time. Erin and Ken are wonderful hosts and make you feel like family during your stay. The rooms are clean and spacious - we stayed in the Alaula Suite this year - and the setting is beautiful. The views of the bay and the location could not be better. Some of the best snorkling on the island is in very close proximity (the Captain Cook monument and Two-Step) and we found it very easy to travel down to the Volcano (on our previous trip) and up to Waimea and further to the Northern Coast on this vacation. Breakfasts are freshly made and very filling as opposed to some B&B's that put out cereal and muffins and consider this breakfast. On both of our visits there has always been fresh Kona coffee at breakfast, fresh juices, sliced fruit and a variation of egg dishes and suasage. I honestly cannot imagine staying anywhere else on the island when we visit and we cannot wait to schedule our 3rd trip to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and wonderful hospitality of the Luana Inn.

Luana Inn was just what we expected: a beautiful location with a stunning view. We found the rooms to be simple and clean. The bed was very comfortable! And the porch and view was oh so relaxing. Not to mention being poolside with the spectacular sunset views.

The breakfasts were great! Always varied, healthy and tasty. Erin's homemade granola (of varying types) was so delicious. And I have to give a shout out to Ken's frittata.

Ken and Erin have that wonderful innkeeper ability to be there when you need them for advice on great restaurants or favorite beaches and at other times it felt like we were the only ones at the inn--although we know they were full.

We would definitely go back.

All the other reviews pretty much sum up how wonderful the Luana Inn is. I've stayed at many B&Bs over the years and none have been as relaxed and enjoyable as Luana. All of the rooms are nice (we got a chance to see them all), very private and spacious. Simply and tastefully decorated. The yard overlooks the ocean, unobstructed, and you can lay by the pool and gaze at the view. But why would you when you can head to the beach, which is less than a mile away? And the best snorkeling on the island is less than a mile away as well.

If you do stay here, I recommend staying for as long as possible, as Luana makes a great home base from which to explore the island.

The owners, Ken and Erin are warm and generous and offer their suggestions on where to eat and which sights are most essential. They have a restaurant review book that is available to browse that is informative and hysterical. Be sure to talk to them about newer restaurants as our guide books didn't list many of them.

If you are a dog lover, be sure to ask if you can give the adorable Oliver a belly rub (they keep him away from guests in case of allergies).
