Just got back from our fourth trip to the Big Island, and our fourth stay at the TeaPot Cottage (we wouldn't visit the Big Island without staying there--we plan our trips around it's availability) and it was as wonderful as always. The cottage has every comfort imaginable provided, glorious and delicious breakfasts, snacks, teas and coffees, is maintained in spotless condition, and Bill and Antionette really go the extra mile to make sure we are well taken care of (Antionette provided us tickets to the orchid show in Hilo, which we had not heard about, and it was terrific!). We enjoyed visiting the volcano again (the ocean entry is exciting to watch), bought some great wine at the Volcano Winery, hiked some trails we had never been on before (Lava Trees state park is cool), and enjoyed the Thurston Lava Tube once again, despite three buses of tourists arriving at the same time! The TeaPot Cottage is such a wonderful and peaceful retreat to return to after a busy day of hiking and sightseeing, and the privacy and quiet is a true blessing as well. Bill and Antoinette have always been so kind and respectful to us--they give great advice about places to go and things to do, without being pushy or intrusive, and it is easy to tell that they love helping visitors enjoy the Big Island and their wonderful TeaPot Cottage. The teapot theme is fun, the large landscaped yard keeps getting better and better (more trails and spots to sit and relax and enjoy the flora and fauna of a beautiful rain forest--they have bamboo and it is gorgeous), and they provided the best breakfasts (enough for a family of 8!) we had on the whole Island. We are so glad we chose the TeaPot Cottage on our first trip to Hawaii, and have loved it on every subsequent trip--it feels like a home away from home for us, only it might be decorated better than our house...I can't recommend it highly enough--I wish TripAdvisor had a 10 rating, rather than just 5, because the TeaPot Cottage is by far one of the best B&Bs we've EVER stayed in (and we try to only stay in B&Bs when we travel, rather than hotels or condos--we enjoy the privacy, quiet and flexibility so much more). In every way, staying at the TeaPot Cottage was a pure delight!
