Have just spent 9 days in the White Ginger suite. The owner Sherry asked us what time we would arrive as she likes to personally greet all her guests, but she wasn't there and we didn't get to see anyone at all for 3 days, which was a little annoying as we felt we were left to fend for ourselves and there were several things we wanted to ask.
You are given a key code in advance for the doors so there isn't any need to check in like you usually would. The suite itself was beautiful although as it was at the front it was the closest to the busy road which was a pain especially as we took a long time chosing where we stayed and wanted somewhere close to the beach so we could open the windows and hear the waves at night, but unfortunately that wasn't possible with the road noise. Also the guy at the property infront was doing up his place so we had to contend with slabs being broken up and electric tools which started before 7am on several occasions, nothing to do with the Aloha but a bit annoying none the less.
We also only had our toiletries replaced once in the 9 days which was a shame as they were lovely local lavender items and for $355 a night we would have liked them replaced. The suite wasn't particularly well cleaned either, we had lots of little bugs downstairs which meant all food items had to be put away over night, including cups/glasses with the remains of drink in because they would be infested the next day and the floor was also very dirty, I had new slippers which after 9 days were absolutely filthy from walking around downstairs.
Overall the stay was great, you can whale watch from the windows of the suite but it would have been nice to have felt welcomed instead of, right I've had your money now work it out for yourselves!
