“As nice as I expected!”

I had never been to Hawaii before and frankly I didn't know much about it.

I booked this place based completely on the reviews on Trip Advisor and email communication with Sherry who runs the hotel, which I knew was a bit risky. But I have had good luck with the reviews on TA in the past so I figured I would take a chance.

I'm glad to report that I was not disappointed. I stayed in the Bamboo Room, which was lovely. The entire place is spotlessly clean.

This hotel is pretty much as nice as most of the reviews here indicated. I have no negative comments.

If you're looking to party like a rock star this probably isn't the place for you because its quiet and peaceful, which is what we were looking for. Also they do not accept children.

Its located in Kihei, right off Southe Kihei Rd just north of where the it gets busy. There are plenty of stores & restaurants within a couple miles and Lahaina is about 1/2 hour north. In other words, the location is pretty good as far as I'm concerned.

There's a beach right across the street and you can hear it from your room. Its not the best beach in Maui but great for a nice walk early in the morning or in the evening, And great beaches are close by with plenty of free parking.

There's a fancy outdoor grill where you can grill whatever you want. There's also a washer & dryer that guests can use, which had I known ahead of time I could have packed less stuff. Oh well.

I think the other reviews here have pretty much nailed the details so I'll spare you from having to read it again from me.

Bottom line I would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend it to family or friends.

“Great experience”

Stayed for a week after spending a few days at the Marriott in Wailea. MUCH better value for money here. The Orchid Suite was fully equipped for a lovely honeymoon. Owner/caretaker was away on the mainland visiting family, but left us the number of someone she left in charge, who was spotted a couple of times and incredibly friendly. Didn't really need anyone anyhow.

Bed - really comfy. Interior decorations lovely (including candles). Fully equipped kitchen (with dishes/wine glasses/really anything you'd want for a week or two). Quiet - only saw a few couples very briefly while coming and going or swimming. Pool - spotless, small, and right outside your door (regardless of the suite you choose.) View - (Orchid suite balcony/lanai) - not great, probably the best of the complex, one CAN see the ocean, but only just, establishment next door/foilage/etc blocking the majority. You can hear the garden waterfall splashing into the coi pool downstairs outside the suite however, and there's generally a nice breeze blowing through that made up for it in my opinion. S. Kihei Rd is only a property away (the one blocking the view), so there is a little (imo) traffic noise, but definitely not enough to ruin the deal for me. Location - excellent and a big plus - the upside to being really close to S. Kihei Rd :) - we fell in love with Kihei as a community. Everything you could really want pretty close, but not too taken over by the big league resorts yet.

Bad stuff - upon arrival, the upstairs bedroom smelled a tad like vomit. (?) This dissipated fairly quickly - or we got used to it - and/or the open door helped. Never got the wireless intarwebs to work. Connected to the router just fine, but the router is/was not flowing through. These were minor details in our overall Pualani experience.

Will not hesitate to stay here again, and in fact are planning on going back periodically in the future as our budget allows. :)

of note: we didn't actually hit the beach directly across the street (snorkeling @ Wailea mostly,) but it looked fine from a distance.

We just returned from a 10 day stay at the Aloha Pualani! It was wonderful. When we arrived everything was perfect. The room was great! They had supplied us with some fruit and enough coffee to last about a week! Gerri was wonderful. When we were there she discovered that it was our 1st wedding anniversary and bought us lei's and gave us a wonderful card! The minute that we got there it felt like a home away from home!! With only 6 suites it was a little oasis. We didn't have to worry about getting a spot at the pool it was great. The use of the BBQ and outdoor fridge made it great to be outside and not having to eat out every meal was wonderful!! This is a great place for anyone who wants to be out of the crowds and want to relax. It was at the end of the strip of hotels so it was quiet at night, but it wasn't far from any of the amenities. We were right across from the ocean so it was great to just cross the street and be on one of the many amazing beaches in Kihei. When we go back to Maui we are definitely going to stay here again! It was our own private oasis!!

“Very nice, but a couple of little niggles...”

Have just spent 9 days in the White Ginger suite. The owner Sherry asked us what time we would arrive as she likes to personally greet all her guests, but she wasn't there and we didn't get to see anyone at all for 3 days, which was a little annoying as we felt we were left to fend for ourselves and there were several things we wanted to ask.

You are given a key code in advance for the doors so there isn't any need to check in like you usually would. The suite itself was beautiful although as it was at the front it was the closest to the busy road which was a pain especially as we took a long time chosing where we stayed and wanted somewhere close to the beach so we could open the windows and hear the waves at night, but unfortunately that wasn't possible with the road noise. Also the guy at the property infront was doing up his place so we had to contend with slabs being broken up and electric tools which started before 7am on several occasions, nothing to do with the Aloha but a bit annoying none the less.

We also only had our toiletries replaced once in the 9 days which was a shame as they were lovely local lavender items and for $355 a night we would have liked them replaced. The suite wasn't particularly well cleaned either, we had lots of little bugs downstairs which meant all food items had to be put away over night, including cups/glasses with the remains of drink in because they would be infested the next day and the floor was also very dirty, I had new slippers which after 9 days were absolutely filthy from walking around downstairs.

Overall the stay was great, you can whale watch from the windows of the suite but it would have been nice to have felt welcomed instead of, right I've had your money now work it out for yourselves!

Good place. Nice pool and the rooms are decorated well. Everything was nice, bathrooms, bedroom, pool area. Was a little noisy from road noise and the beach was not great! Overall good stay!
