So, my husband and I decided to book here because of the kitchen since we were taking along 3 young kids. I had requested a one bedroom no loft, b/c our kids sleep early. Upon arrival, we found that the room had a huge open wall between the living room and bedroom with no partition. B/c no other one bedroom was available, we decided to upgrade to a two bedroom until a one bedroom that had a partition was open. I have to say that the two bedroom condo was quite nice (#110 in the main building) When it was time to move to our new room, I requested a late checkout so that it would be easier to move our things into the one bedroom. the guy at the front desk gave us a 2 o'clock check out but when I proceeded to ask him exactly what we were supposed to do with the card key (b/c it automatically expires at noon time checkout), he rudely asked me if I understood what he was talking about. Needless to say, so matter how many stars this lodging has, my question did not warrant the kind of response that he gave me. I was speechless, and I walked away fuming... I should have confronted him, but i decided to let it go. Now to give some credit to the Maui Kaanapali Villas, other front desk people were pleasant and helpful.
When we got to our new room, it had the partition, but it was definitely not as nice as the two bedroom. The decor was cheesy, and the bathrooms had a musty smell. On top of that, we kept finding small ants in the kitchen. We also had no internet connection, so I had to take my computer to the lobby. We were only staying two more nights, so we decided to stay in the room, as we didn't want to drag our luggage around again.
Having stayed here, would I want to return here again? It was a good deal for Kaanapali Beach, but it still wouldn't be enough for me to return. Sorry MKV, I'll be staying next door at the Westin Villas next time. At least there, I know all the rooms are predictable and consistent, and the staff wouldn't dare to treat their guests the way I was treated.

Aloha,
All units at the Maui Kaanapali Villas are individually owned and decorated. This is what partly differentiates a hotel from a condominium. No chances taken in a hotel, everything looks the same. Every guest brings their own expectations.
All hotels and condominiums fight the good fight against critters in the tropics. We all have contracts with the same pest control companies to eliminate the same ants.
No excuses for poor Staff service. The gift of Aloha is the most precious service we can offer our guests. Normally, as evidenced by most comments on Trip Advisor, our Staff exceeds guest's service expectations.
We are constantly working with our owners to up-grade their units. Guests are always given an opportunity to move to other units if they are not satisfied with the unit assigned based on availability.
As pointed out, the Maui Kaanapali Villas is a great deal on a world class beach. The Owners have just completed a $1.4 million renovation of the swimming pools and grounds adding 2 jet spas to the list of existing amenities. Very few condominium resorts have oceanfront restaurants next to their pools and spas.
We always try to meet our Guest's Expectations. Our owners continue to invest in our Guest's experience.
