Ask for room 232 when booking!!! looks brand new and unused, very quiet, spacious, full kitchen, big bathroom, we couldn't ask for more!! Perfect for relaxing.
No ocean view, but you can solve this with a very short walk to the beach front.
The Resort amenities are great, very nice pool and beach area, the breakfast was good but a little pricey (and not included on room rate - we suggest you to do your own breakfast in the room, there is a 24h supermarket nearby, and the room has all the tools you'll need).
5 minutes drive from Lahaina downtowm, full of restaurants and nice shops.
Maui is beautiful, stay there for a week or more to have enough time to see the whole island.
Just pay attention to where you park your car inside the resort, one side of the road is a non-parking zone, and the signs are very small on short posts, almost got a ticket.

Maui Kaanapali Villas was a great getaway weekender from Oahu. The hotel is situated in the center of West Maui with a 5 min drive to Kapalua and the Ritz one way, and Front street, Lahaina 5 min the other way. I found the room we had to be large and personalized as these are private condo units with fully supplied kitchens (pots pans ect.) and the personal touches of the individual owners. Parking was close to our room and included in the resort fee. Check in was quick and easy and done with much Aloha.
The stretch of beach in front of the hotel was great for everyone. There is a small store in the lobby that was great for small necessities and a 24 hr Star market a mile up the road for a full shopping run.
Overall I was very satisfied with the amenities, Location, and service at check in and would recommend this hotel to others looking for this type of condotel on the Beach in Maui.

Recently (Jun 27 - Jul 3) I stayed at this location. I have read many of the other reviews and did not experience any of the troubles described. Our room (617) was outstanding. There were no problems whatsoever. The desk staff was friendly and always helpful. I ate at the Castaway several times and always had great food and service. This location seems to be rather family friendly which probably leads to my only complaint. Since I don't have children, I typically don't vacation with them. Around the pool area there were always several kids. The hot tub had signs posted on both sides which stated children were not permitted in hot tub. In seven days I don't think I was able to get in and enjoy the hot tub without some child jumping in. Security would do their job and ask them to get out only to be questioned by the parents. There is a strict non-smoking policy at this resort and I am quite certain if someone broke that rule then there would be a hell to pay but breaking some rules are considered acceptable at this resort. That was my only gripe. The beach in front of the resort was nice and there were typically not many folks on them. If you were to visit some of the nearby locations you would see that it is tough to find a spot on the beach. Our room had a nice view of the pool area and the ocean. The balcony was rather small but who is spending their time sitting on a balcony while in Hawaii. They offered a shuttle service to some of the shopping areas which made it nice for those without cars. I read there some reviews stating that the furnishings in the rooms was sub par. I think many, if not all, of these are individually owned. It may possibly be up to the unit owner to update furnishings. My room was nicely appointed, well maintained and everything worked properly. I will most likely return to this resort and will request the same room again.

We stayed in unit 218 in the towers from May 24th to May 31st and loved it. The kitchen and bathroom were very nicely redone and we had a large lanai. The rooms above the second floor have very small lanais so we were lucky. We travelled to Maui to attend a wedding. The other wedding guests were in the Kaanapali Shores which they liked but we booked late and couldn't get into the Shores and we're glad that we couldn't. Our resort was quainter, friendlier and had a far better beach. The people staying at the Shores were coming to snorkel and swim with us. We liked the Villas so much that we're already planning our next trip for two weeks in October.
