This was our third stay at the Noelani, but the first one without other family members so we had a one bedroom condo. As always it was clean and well kept. The kitchens have always had lots of equipment for preparing any meal.
The staff are very friendly and patient. Bruce the concierge was terrific fun. He set us up on some super adventures - Helicopter up to Hana with luxury van ride back to heliport, great trip to Turtletown and Molikini on the Maui Kai and an outstanding whale watching experience. He did not steer us wrong once.
The grounds and pools were well maintained. The barbeques and herb garden came in handy. At the orientation breakfast the gardener brought a whole stem of bananas from a tree on the property! Everyone enjoyed them. We loved sitting in the hot tub watching the whales in the channel and the turtles in the surf beside us!
We have stayed at the Noelani in February & March. No need for air conditioning at that time of year as there is usually a nice breeze that comes through the slats in the bedroom through to the slats or screen door in the living room. Speaking of the slats, if you are in one of the bedrooms on the parking side of the building, you do hear people coming and going early in the morning or late at night. Most people try to be considerate and quiet once they realize how everyone can hear them, but when they are newly arrived they are excited, so you have to cut them some slack. Afterall, everyone is on holiday. If it bothers you, most of the condos have hideabeds or daysbeds in the living room where the sound of the ocean eliminates all other noises.
It is only a short drive to several restaurants, grocery stores and a market garden. !0 minutes to Kaanapali, 15 to Lahaina.
We love to snorkle early in the morning and there are several great spots to drive to nearby. If you go early enough you can get decent parking. I have snorkled at the little beach next to the Noelani. It was later in the afternoon and a little stirred up but we were pleased with the variety of fish we could see.
Everyday there were surfers and standup paddle surfers to watch from the lanai. One Sunday the locals were there for a surfing competition. Lots of action that day.
Would we stay here again? ABSOLUTELY! In fact we are booked for next year and have several others coming this time for a family wedding on Maui.
