While some people its just a street, all I have to say you have to here if you are in San Francisco, this is one the parts of the city that you need to vist. Its a historical street. Did you know that the residents of this street tried to close this street some years ago, and of course the city dint let them. We walked there from pier 39 its a long walk and very steep hills, but its really worth it, if you have kids you might want to consider talking the cable car so they dont get tired.

PS. The place is filled with flowers its really amazing.

This street is so cool! Well, it's really just one block of Lombard street. Maybe I'm a geek but I loved driving down it. I did not have to wait long, if at all to make the drive, as the previous reviewer did. The couple times I did it were both during the week, maybe that's why. Also the view from the top is amazing.

While the view from the top of Lombard St is excellent, being stuck in the line of cars waiting to drive down was not worth the time it took to get there.

Many people were walking the steps and stopping to enjoy the view in a way you miss while strapped into your car. My recommendation would be to park nearby and hike to the top to get the full benefit of the view. Then drive down just to say you did.
