“Excellent Location”

Hotel Adagio

Jul 4, 2008

Stayed 5 nights during June. Excellent location, 5 minute walk to union square. My first impression when i arrived was the hotel looked didn't look as fresh in person as it appeared in the web photos. Hotel room was an excellent size as was bathroom. Our room cleaner did an exceptional job each day. There was a well stocked mini bar with coffee making facilities.

Hotel Staff were very friendly.

We attempted to have breakfast in the hotel's own Cortez Restuarant one morning. We placed our order at 7.20am and at 7.50 am we were informed our original selection was not available and were asked if we would like to choose something different. We had to leave without breakfast as we were leaving on a tour at 8.00am. There are at least 5 very reasonably priced diners within a five minute walk from the hotel.

Would recommend taking the hotels own town car for the trip back to airport. Well priced at €45 for the trip. Our orginal taxi from airport to the hotel cost €40.

“Nice Hotel, Good Location”

Hotel Adagio

Nashville

Great hotel for the price! The rooms are nice and clean and the bar/dining area is very nice and trendy. I came in town for a girls weekend away and this was a great choice. The concierge was very friendly and helpful. The BART(transport from the airport) is close to hotel and very easy to navigate as well as much cheaper than a cab ride.

The only thing negative I have to say really has nothing to do with the hotel itself. Around 3am every morning we could hear the clanking of bottles for about an hour each time as the bar directly across the street cleaned up. I would just recommend asking for a room not facing the main street. This would hopefully eliminate this problem.

“Chic and Stylish”

This hotel has style and panache and the hotel restaurant with its Spanish Colonial style seems to be the hot property in San Francisco. All the glamorous people in the lobby at dinner, but you always feel as though you are the pampered guest here! Forgot my camera battery one day as I was renting a bike for the day and when I called the hotel, they offered to bring it to me. What personal service!

Please forget the Hilton and Marriott unless you are a conventioneer and the hotel has been selected for you. This hotel has all the style of the much pricier Clift across the street, and little more low key and understated elegance than the brash Monaco nearby.

The hotel restaurant's featured small plates were fantastic and the bartender was extremely helpful with selection of both food and cocktails as I was traveling solo.

Please try the Adagio. You will not be disappointed!

“Wonderful stay at Adiago!”

Hotel Adagio

We stayed at Hotel Adagio for 1 week on vacation. We booked our stay through travelzoo.com and got a great rate. As soon as we arrived the staff was there to assist. We arrived 3hrs before check-in and they went above and beyond for us to get checked in early. Our room was very clean and updated. If you like more of a modern feel this place is for you. Our room was a king suite on the 11th floor. The hotel staff was very friendly and showed us all the ammenities in our room. Bed is very comfortable/great linens. Air conditioning was available but was not needed. When you stay here please keep in mind that you are in the CITY. There will be street noise. Don't let other reviews you may have read make you think twice about staying here. TIP: at night we closed the windows and you couldn't hear a thing. Location is great, only 2 blocks from Union Square. There is also a Walgreens near the hotel. I recommend picking your snacks/drinks up here for the room instead of paying the mini bar prices. There is also free coffee and paper in the mornings downstairs in the lobby. You can make coffee in the room with mini bar charges or go to the lobby for free. The doormen was so knowledgable about the city and helped us along our way every day. I would stay here again and again. Great value, Great customer service, Great location, Great Experience, hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

“OK place but it has problems”

Hotel Adagio

Jun 29, 2008

My wife and I stayed at the Adagio because of the price and the good reviews. It was a clean place and the staff was friendly but our room did not have working internet. My wife needed the internet to conduct business while we were away. It was supposed to be included free in our room. I told the staff about this problem and they worked on it right away. Unfortunately after 3 days it still wasn't fixed even though each day I was told that it was working.. We were then offered a different room but that room was very hot because the AC didn't work properly. Eventually they moved the AC unit from our old room to the new room and everything worked on our LAST NIGHT in the hotel.

This hotel also has a restaurant but the prices are VERY high even for San Francisco. As an example, they offer a cold buffet breakfast that includes 3 cereals, a small offering of fruit, yogurt, and juices. The price is $14. That is bad enough but then they add an additional $3 gratuity on top. THIS IS CRAZY. I have never been charge a gratuity when I serve myself! The total cost ends up to be (after tax) to be $20.

Overall the place was ok but I felt that it could have been better. It is the typical city hotel that serves but seems to fall short of expectations.
