“Fantastic Hotel”

Omni Parker House

Booked this hotel at short notice direct with Omni whilst on a two week holiday in New England - we were staying about 13 miles outside of Boston and planned to commute in but had a change of plan and decided we wanted to have the city on our doorstep. Got a pretty good rate (for Boston city hotels) and stayed for four nights with my wife and 12 year old son in a deluxe room with two double beds. The rooms are small but nicely decorated, well appointed and very clean with comfortable beds and nice bathrooms. The lobby is large and ornate, has a really welcoming atmosphere and is a good place to sit and people watch. We ate at both The Last Hurrah and Parkers Restaurant (breakfast and dinner) and had excellent food and service at both. The price of the food and drinks seemed very reasonable for a luxury city centre hotel. The location of the hotel is perfect - right on the Freedom Trail and within easy walking distance of most sights/attractions. But the thing that really sets this hotel apart is the staff. We have stayed at many top-class hotels and I can honestly say that the staff at this hotel are the best we have ever experienced. From making the booking by telephone to checking out, all the staff (without exception - including the IT guy that sorted out a minor problem with our internet connection!) were friendly, polite, helpful, intuative, eager to assist and appeared to have just one aim - to make our stay as enjoyable as possible - they really made us feel as if we were the only guests staying at the hotel. There are too many examples of the good service we received to mention but we will always remember the card and the three huge complimentary chocolate covered strawberrys sent to our room for my birthday and the doorman carrying my son (who has a mild walking disability) from the taxi to the lobby in order to get him out of the torrential rain storm! They have set the standard by which we will judge every hotel we stay in from now on. We were sad to leave the Omni Parker and, if we ever visit Boston again, will definitely stay here.

“Beautiful place/Great location!”

Omni Parker House

4 of 5 stars
Hackensack, NJ
Aug 3, 2008

We stayed for two nights (7/31/08-8/1/08) in a standard room.

The room was pretty small for a "standard" double. We were offered a room with a "view" (i.e., a wide but short window up near the ceiling) and found out after we took it that the standard rooms with windows are smaller than the standard rooms without. We weren't in the room much though, so it didn't really matter to us. The full-size bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was nicely appointed with large tub/shower, and the flat-panel TV was great. The location of the hotel in the center of Boston can't be beat. The building itself is gorgeous. The lobby staff was very attentive. The cost of hotel parking is high, but you're probably not going to get a better deal elsewhere if you have to bring you car.

We enjoyed our stay at the Omni Parker House very much.

“Living history”

Omni Parker House

One might say the rooms are small and I would say just unpack and throw yourself out while you are so close to everything! The hotel is really ideally located. I hadn't stayed in such a historic one before that the small room did not bother me at all. Even when you first step in, you feel there is something different with this hotel carrying you away. The lobby is magnificently large and you can get lost in the corridors while you are trying to find your room. I recommend you to eat in hotel's dining room which has a great atmosphere as well. Both the dinner and breakfast were superb!
Lastly, I must thank my friend Derek who informed me of this hotel. I count myself lucky to have stayed in.

“Our 15th anniversary at the Omni Parker House Hotel”

Omni Parker House

Jul 27, 2008

Save
Every anniversary I generally plan a surprise of some sort for my husband.

This was our 15th wedding anniversary and I decided to plan a trip to Boston. Even though we live only a few miles from Boston we haven't done half the things there that tourists have done.

From his conversations I could tell that he thought that we were going to Cape Cod.

He was surprised when we drove up to the Science Museum and hopped onboard the Duck Tour. We really enjoyed it.

He was shocked when we then drove up to the Omni Parker House Hotel.

From the moment we arrived until we left the stay was perfect.

Everyone from the valets to the door men to the front desk were perfect.

The room was wonderful, we had a nice size room with a king size bed. Many travelers have complained about the size of the bathroom, it was small but very nice and very clean. It served it's purpose. Bathroom size just isn't an issue for us.

The lobby was a fun place to use our computers and just watch people walk by.

We ate dinner in the main dining room and the service was great, everyone was so friendly. The soft shell crab was delicious!!

Sunday evening at the end of our stay, the valet who was wonderful drove our car up to the door,

as we were ready to leave I looked at the doorman and

said, "hey, I heard that this place is haunted, is it?

he laughed and with a big smile replied "it's haunted by all

of the great people that work here."

We will never forget our "tourist" trip in Boston and our stay at

the Omni Parker Hotel.

“Old Favourite”

Omni Parker House

We stay at the Omni every year and I look forward to it. The rooms have been refurbished and they are lovely - This year we decided to stay in a suite which was very nice - corner room - very nice bed - though not much of a view - had a great view last year. We actually found the junior suite bigger but the full suite had a separate sitting room with a bed settee and no bath! The corridors could be doing with a facelift. For those complaining of small rooms - if you pay a bit more the rooms are much bigger and worth the extra cost. Staff very friendly. I would also advise to take the full breakfast which is good value - especially if your party likes their food - great selection for breakfast and lovely fresh fruit etc.. Also worth joining select guest programme - free drinks in the morning delivered to your room. Only down side - the door staff - they were either not available or not willing to help - as there are stairs going in the door this can be tricky - especially for older people. They should take a lesson from the door staff in the Omni San Francisco who are excellent. also front doors are grubby and need cleaned - that said - I would highly recommend the Omni Boston!
