The Location is awesome. Within walking distance to all restaurants and bars with great entertainment. We had a one bedroom suite on the third floor with a magnificent view of the strip. The Gas Lamp Plaza Suites a very lovely hotel. Very well kept. We ate at the Dakota Grill and the food was delicious. We were also given a ten dollar discount on the back of our room key. To top off our awesome anniversary weekend at the Gas Lamp Plaza Suites was i had left behind my $250 ipod. I was so bummed when i got home. I call the lost and found and left my info. The next morning Shaun called me and told me that Lupe Moreno had turned in my ipod. They will be shipping it to me by fed ex. I can not ask for a better anniversary weekend.Thank you so much "Gas Lamp Suites" You made my anniversary one to always "remember". I will definitely come back over and over and over again. First class place and first class people.

While I stayed there, someone had broken into my room and another patron's room and deficated on the bed. I never!! It was absolutely disgusting and the hotel staff nor the general manager did anything about it: they didn't investigate AT ALL and didn't take responsibility at all for allowing some creep to wonder around and gain access to people's rooms and do this. I felt completely unsafe and checked out immediately and they refused to refund my money for the days I was not staying. I overhead them accussing the other patron's who found this mess in there rooms of being the people who did it.

I cannot believe this place. It has been by far the worst travelling experience of my life and the most disgusting.

I love this place! The room was amazing and the location was perfect! The valet/bell staff was really helpful. The room and the bathroom are large and very comfy. The hotel is located in the middle of the gaslamp quarter so if noise bothers you I would not recommend this place. I was less than impressed with the front desk staff. Although, it didn't really affect my stay because the other staff was extremely nice. I would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I stayed at the Gaslamp Plaza Suites for 2 days as part of a Fathers Day trip for our parents that we booked. My husband and I travel to San Diego a couple times a year, and were pleasently surprised with not only the hotel itself, but the price, and how convenient the location was. We opted for the smallest room which was about $100, our parents got the larger rooms ranging up to $ 150. There is a lovely continental breakfast in the morning up on the roof top, and at night the view from the roof top was a awesome. The staff was great and helpful. We were able to walk to everything (shopping & restaurants are very close). We all ate at Sammy's Wood Fired Pizza, which the food was very good, great variety and prices were reasonable, and the Hard Rock... everything was so close which my husband and I like. The only drawbacks to note are that since the location is central to all the nightlife, there can be some noise issues, depending where your room is and Parking is by Valet, or you can find parking elsewhere. In San Diego this is expected, so be ready to pay either way, but it is not too bad at the hotel. I would definitely stay at this hotel again, and for the price I could not beat it, and we all enjoyed ourselves and would definitely come back.
