Stayed here a week through an RCI exchange and this place rocks! We're older retired couple in our 60's and it was a bit noisy some nights but soon got used to it. The suite was grand with a large sitting room, ample bedroom with queen bed, great views of the city (we were on the eighth floor) and complementary breakfast on the roof. The downtown location negates need for a car as buses and trolleys are always available. Senior rate on either is $1 for one way trip. Trolleys go to Old Town, Little Italy and Tijuana (need passport) while buses can take you to Balboa Park/San Diego Zoo (#7) the Coronado Ferry (#2) or directly to Coronado (#901). Bus #30 services the Birch Aquarium and La Jolla village. PETCO park is within walking distance. We had a great time at a nightclub called Shout with dualing piano players on 4th St and Patricks II around the corner from Croces. Horton Plaza with Macys, Nordstroms and many other shops is one block away. A Ralphs supermarket is also close by as well as several other smaller markets. If you want to rent a car for a day or two the trolley (Blue Line) will take you directly to many car rental places at the Middletown stop.
