We stayed at Gaslamp Plaza Suites for a week, through a timeshare exchange. The location is perfect. Right in the middle of Gaslamp district, very close to buses, trolleys, restaurants, bars, Horton Plaza, and a short walk from the ocean. They offered a free continental breakfast on their rooftop, which was a pleasant surprise for a timeshare. It was simple but sufficient, with toast, PB&J, pastries, coffee, cereal, milk, juice, and fruit. Two days a week they offer bagels with cream cheese. We were in the smallest room they offer, called the studio I believe, and one of the rooms with no view. It was really very small, barely enough room to open the dresser drawers. But we expected this, as many of these historic buildings have small rooms. It did have a bathtub, and a decent sized bathroom. My only complaint was that the mattress was not very comfortable, it seemed like it was due to be replaced awhile ago. I was also a little surprised that the remote control was tethered to the nightstand. I'm not used to seeing that in the higher-end hotels.
