We stayed at the Del Mar Marriott for $87 per night on Priceline. I really disagree with the two-star rating that Trip Advisor is giving this hotel - it is at least a three-star hotel. It is much nicer than a Holiday Inn or similar hotel. This is the second time we have stayed here. This time, it was much busier than the last time. There were a lot of group events going on so the bar and restaurant were constantly crowded. That is a sign of the success of the hotel, of course. The restaurant, Arterra, seems to be extremely popular with more than just hotel guests. As far as the rooms are concerned, everything was fine - comfortable bed, rooms cleaned on time, nice amenities in the bathroom.

One thing I really like about this hotel is the location. Although it seems unexciting - it is basically in the middle of a business park so is not a good choice if you don't have a car - it is only about a 15-20 minute drive to downtown San Diego and 10-15 minutes' drive to Del Mar, La Jolla and Solana Beach so you have the option to go in either direction for dinner, beach or entertainment. It is also a lot less crowded and much mellower than staying downtown. I definitely prefer staying close to Del Mar when in San Diego, and I am hoping I get this hotel again next time I Priceline a hotel in San Diego.

My husband, six year old son and I stayed her one night for a trip to SeaWorld (about 15 minutes south). The hotel is the typical nice Marriott I just found that it needed attention. The bedding was stained, the tables in the restaurant hadn't been cleaned properly etc. Little things but they bothered me. The staff was great however. There is internet access in the lobby for free. It also annoys me that there is a fee for internet access in the room. Parking is $16/nt.

Torrey Pines beach is a 5 minute drive away. It's a nice hotel it just needs some care.

The Marriot Del Mar in San Diego was EXCELLENT. I loved it from the moment i walked into the hotel. Parking is a feel but you can find street parking around the corner. The outdoor patio bar is amazing! couches with a fire pit and outdoor heaters! it was so cute! the rooms were comfortable and clean. very nice and clean hotel!! i'm very particular about hotels and i rarely am happy with hotels but I LOVED THIS ONE!!!

Wonderful hotel. Beautiful room, comfortable and pleasant. The front desk was very accommodating. I requested to see one of the rooms prior to making a reservation. They were very nice about the request, and showed me a double bed room. I stayed in the same room for 2 nights. When you walk in, it feels like the room "hugs" you. The beds were very very comfortable. The room also had a huge flat panel LG TV. Very clean, bathroom was a normal size. Complimentary Bath and Body soap and shampoo products. My suggestion would be to add a shelf or hook to hang your luffa sponges in the bathtub. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Note: self parking is high, $13/night. If you can find a place to park on the other side of the hotel, you can save some money!
