When we booked our hotel through hotels.com it was the best priced for the location and the amneities. Upon arrival at the belvedere the doorman david greeted us verywell. The check desk was very nice and they found us a room at 10.00am and the check in time 4.00 pm. When we got up to the 7 floor we got in our room it was nice and the entrence way had nice tile. The beds were very low and to soft the room was a little out dated but very very clean. The bathroom was nice and clean. The amenites were nice workout room breakfeast etc.etc.... The problums we had were 2 elavaters for a 17 storie buildingand they were very small. This place was a little pricy but very convienynt. The consiare was helpful (when there). So if you are looking for a good location and clean rooms.STAY HERE

“Go for an executive room”

Recently enjoyed a three night stay in the Belvedere and both my wife and I agree that it was very good mid price option in a great location.

We arrived at 2pm and were told that our room would not be available until 4pm, a bit of an annoyance as we had planned to shower and change before going out for food, but not the end of the world. When we returned our room was ready and our first impression was that we had done well for the price paid. I had heard that there were ongoing refurbishments taking place and that the rooms on the higher floors were nicer so I spent the extra few $ on an executive room and was pleased with my choice. As mentioned by others the fridge and kitchenette area is very convenient and allows guests to bring in their own snacks and drinks at a much more reasonable price than the average hotel minibar. The bathroom was very nice and the decor and furnishings in general were more than what could usually be expected from a three star hotel.

In contrast to some previous postings we had no problems with street noise or air con and although the two elevators are inadequate for the number of guests, it only took up an extra minute or two of our time each day.

The hotel, facilities, and staff are all great, but the thing that really makes this hotel a top pick is the location. It's far enough away from Times Square to be less overrun with chain stores and tourists, but is still close enough to the bright lights and neon jungle that you get the feeling that you're in the thick of the action. Loads of attractions are within easy walking distance and there are several different underground lines that have stops in and around the area of the hotel.

You can get to any area of Manhattan and the surrounding areas in a short period of time form this hotel, but for breakfast we were happy to stay local and really enjoyed a couple of lovely breakfasts at Pigalle and the Olympic Diner. We also enjoyed drinks in several of the bars on restaurant row as well as dinner the Joshua Tree and really liked the atmosphere of the area

All things considered £110/night is normally a lot to pay for a 3 star hotel, however the hotel and it's location are worth much more than that and I would have no hesitation about staying here again

“The Belvedere is AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!!”

I booked my room through a training I was attending (American Management Association) and was cautious about the price ($177 - unbeatable in NYC). After reading some of the comments on trip advisor and other sites, I was a little worried about this hotel. However, after a horrible start to our trip (flight got cancelled and we arrived in NYC a day late), we were astounded by the friendliness of the front desk staff.

The room we had originally booked was a "Double Double" in a non-refurbished section of the hotel. When we checked in, the hotel staff immediately upgraded us to an "Executive King" for a small upgrade fee (which they ended up not even charging us anyways). The room was AMAZING!!! It had marble entryways, a minibar w/ fridge and microwave, and a wall-to-wall marble bath. And the views of NYC from our room were BREATHTAKING!

I cannot believe how lucky we got, especially with all the flight troubles. The wonderful staff and accomodations at the Belvedere definitely improved our trip and made it one of the most memorable ever!

“Great experience--would definitely stay again!”

After much researching, my wife and I decided to stay at the Belvedere. We decided to stay here mainly because of price, location, and the free continental breakfast! In addition, the reviews were excellent.

The only negative thing we can say, and everyone else seems to agree, is that the elevators were extremely slow! During the middle of the day, they were fine. But in the morning and evenings, when everyone was coming/going, they were slow!

Also, most people commented negatively about the A/C window units, but ours worked like a charm! The room was beautiful!

We would DEFINITELY recommend staying here and we will definitely attempt to stay at the Belvedere on our next stay!

“Two thumbs up for The Belvedere!”

The Belvedere

Aug 17, 2008

The exceptional location of The Belvedere Hotel is what makes it special. Anything you want to access in Manhattan is easy because of mid-town location. Room was clean, air conditioned, good bed, super rate, and liked having the safe. Front desk staff were friendly and attentive to our needs. All three concierges were most helpful and insightful when we asked about things to do. Can't wait to stay at the Belvedere again. For discounted Broadway tickets, head to lower Manhattan, South Street Seaport booth on Front street. Be there an hour before they open. You won't be disappointed.
