We stayed at this hotel on the final 2 days of a 10-day New England vacation. We wanted something that was walking distance to 5th Avenue, but away from the crowds. This hotel was perfect for that. It is located on 3rd Avenue between 52nd and 53rd Street. This is primarily a business area of Manhattan so the tourist crowds were minimal. Nevertheless it seems as though many others on vacation had found this hotel also. One of the best aspects was the 53rd Street subway station access right outside the door. We used this extensively.
The hotel was very clean and the rooms totally up-to-date. Service as good, but spectacular. Elevators were very fast and had express trips to upper floors. We paid $315 per night for room 2008 with 2 queen beds occupied by my wife and I and our 2 duaghters. We had a spectacular veiw looking south towards the Chrysler building. We found this to be a good price for a quality hotel in the middle of August. I'd recommend the Courtyard Manhattan Midtown East to both business and pleasure travelers to New York City.
