“Disgustingly Unpleasant and DIRTY”

I didn't have a choice on staying here, but let me tell you the pictures are very inaccurate. I'm here right now as I type on the provided internet which is great...but instead of spending money on this amenitity perhaps they could put more money towards housekeeping. The carpet has not been vaccuumed, trash not picked up in corners or aroung base boards and I was oh so pleased to find pubic hairs embedded in the hand towel I was about to use to wipe the tooth paste off my mouth! The bathroom has spills on the floor that were never cleaned and now have accrued dirt that is affixed to them, the bed is uncomfortable and quite frankly I'm scarred to sleep b/c if it's this dirty of what I can see, imagine what is crawling around!?! Hence I'm typing this at 12:30am, when I have an early morning meeting but can't sleep out of fear of being hauled away by creepy crawlies. Gross, gross, gross. If you are paying with your own money or even your companies money DO NOT stay here!

“Our favorite hotel on our summer vacation”

The first night we were to stay at this hotel we were irritated because they overbooked and sent us over to the Penn Tower Sheraton (which was pretty bad, but we can't complain too much given they did not charge us). However, they redeemed themselves when we came back a week later for the end of our trip and actually stayed at the University Inn. The room was nice, we got free appetizers in the lounge area, a nice continental breakfast and a computer with free Internet in our room. The beds were plush and our only complaint would really be the digital TV kept tweaking for some reason. But the ammenities, hotel staff, everything was great. That pool was probably one of the best we've been in because the temperature was perfect, nice and warm. Great stay!

“Enjoyed very much”

Sheraton Philadelphia University City Hotel

Stayed for a weekend getaway. Enjoyed everything. Nice place (stayed on 17th floor which is Starwood preferred room, I think). Had a nice city view and a nice LCD high def TV. Breakfast was included in our package and it was a full breakfast from a menu.

Close enough to walk to nice restaurants. Parking was an added $20 per day (included in and out rights, so that is not bad for Philadelphia.)

Weakness was concierge service. Young guys that didn't know much about the city from our experience. But, no big deal since there were lots of Phila pamphlets to be had and we had our plans made in advance anyway for shows.

All staff were friendly and helpful. We were treated well and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

“Big TV - Free Internet in Room - Comfy Bed - Tight Parking”

Sheraton Philadelphia University City Hotel

Aug 7, 2008

Stayed here for one night. It is close to the 30th St. Philadelphia train station ( which has Rental Car companies located right in the station - hop off the Amtrak train and into your rental car). Hotel is right across from a Chinese restaurant, Pizza place and a WaWa food store - decent for a cheap lunch , snack or breakfast. Pretty safe area of the city.

The room itself was very clean and mid-size. You get free access to the internet with an in-room computer, mouse & keyboard. Also free wi-fi for your own laptop. My room had a HUGE flat screen HD TV in it. Also a console where (if you brought the right connectors/wires with you) you could play anything on your own computer or DVD player on the room's HD TV.

Small fitness center on the 7th floor with one of each cardio machines and some weights. It closes at 10 PM. Also a pool which I did not use. Parking was $20/day in their garage with full in & out privileges. But man - it seemed like there were more pillars than parking spaces in that garage. I had a smaller car - a Ford Mustang - and it was a challenge to turn corners and park without scratching on a pillar. So if you are going to have a car and park here - use a smaller car if possible.

The Bed was extremely comfortable and the linens and towels were clean. Because of the location close to the highway and train station, I'd stay again. I paid about $220 w/taxes.

“My stay in Sheraton Philadelphia”

Sheraton Philadelphia University City Hotel

4 of 5 stars
New York
Jul 22, 2008

If you want to stay downtown, this is the place. I was there on my business and had to be all over the area, and everything was on walking distance or public transportation was right there . The Lobby area was very nice and the desk staff polite. Customer service is just great! People are very friendly. They know how to treat their customers.
Room was clean, renovated, modern and a very decent size. I am always very picky about beds, but the Sheraton has some of the most comfortable I've ever had in a hotel. Really enjoyed my stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to visitors.
