I traveled to Philadelphia recently for business and was assigned the Four Seasons. Having not stayed at one before and going exclusively with the Ritz-Carlton in Philadelphia, I did not know what to expect.
With the help of a GPS the hotel was easy to find. The valets were friendly and with me leaving at 4am they were kind enough to park my car close.
Check-in was a breeze. I found the guestroom to be very plush, and definitely on par with the Ritz-Carlton.
The bedding was extremely comfortable. I found the bathroom to be quite nice with all marble and very clean. The L'Occitane toiletries had such a pleasant fragrance it made showering on par with aromatherapy.
I was particularly impressed with of all things the ironing board. The hotel had a tiny bottle of water immediately above the iron just for steam settings on the iron. Making it easy to use and not a pain to have to fill the iron with water in the sink.
The hotel internet access was average, and cost $10. The valet parking charges were $45 a day. I didn't check the self parking rates.
Service at the hotel lounge was outstanding, a great place for a late night bite.
I did have one issue with service, as the room did not have any stationary or envelopes to pen a letter. I inquired with the front desk and one employee said she'd have to check with a manager, as another approached and just gave me the requested stationary. I've been writing letters from hotels around the world for years and that was a first.
Overall an outstanding experience. Many of by business colleagues complained that the hotel was too expensive, and that they'd end up spending all of their per diem money on one meal in the hotel's restaurants.
