I really liked this hotel. It was a real bargain without sacrificing cleanliness, location, or safety. My room consisted of 2 comfortable queen size beds, a table with 2 comfortable chairs, a 25 inch TV sitting on the side of a dresser, and a small fridge. I really enjoyed the small fridge. It makes it easy to store restaurant leftovers, sodas, bottled water, etc. This hotel does not have room service so make use of the small refrigerator. The drive to Canal Street was only 10-15 min. The only worry was where to park once you got there. My friend and I found parking convenient at Harrah's casino. If you gamble for 30 min. or more you get your parking validated, so therefore it is free.
Hey, play a penny slot machine for 30 min. or something. Otherwise pay the $15-$30 per day parking in the lots downtown.
The room had a full size ironing board and iron. The staff was very courteous and helpful. They gave us advice on where to go to get great seafood and various other helpful tips that only the locals would know. The gates are locked nightly so you don't have to worry about your vehicle. Overall, a great hotel for those traveling on a budget. Oh and before I forget - Continental breakfast is served every morning. This consists of bagels, muffins, cereal, cream cheese, jelly, milk, and OJ. there are toasters and microwaves to warm your pastries as well as a large dining room with 10-15 tables to use. Very convenient.
