This was my second stay at this hotel. The location is PERFECT. It is right between Waikiki Beach and Ala Moana Park Beach. Also, it is right down the street from a mall. As long as you understand that this is a 2 star not a 5 star hotel you will be fine. The kitchenette is perfect.
There is an ABC grocery store 2 buildings down. We had trouble with the TV, but someone came and fixed it 5 minutes after I reported it. It was just a loose wire. The TV was a flat screen with 80 channels.
We had a beautiful ocean view room. It was a beautiful sight to wake up to every morning.
Having washers and dryers on the 3rd floor was very convenient.

First off the location of the hotel is great as it is within walking distance of the beach, mall and many restaurants. That however is the only thing positive I can say about this place. The rooms were decent but bugs would appear come night. Also we had many difficulties getting to our room because the keys would easily become demagnetized, very annoying when you have to continuously wait for service. This happened one too many times and I can't express to you how frustrating it is to wait 5- 10 minutes every time I wanted to get up to my room. Also the fact that employees constantly loitered by the entrance way (often times smoking) was uncomfortable.

Not worth the money even though it's in a good location.

I was on a business trip to Honolulu and booked my stay at Aqua Waikiki Marina through Expedia.com. Very disappointing - stayed 2.5 days, decided to check out due to the following:
1] Room interior is dirty, carpeting & furniture are old and unkept, smelly - poor housekeeping service 2] undesirable residents [looks like 'prof' men/women] hanging around the hotel's lobby/entrance area - since this hotel shares w/tenant residency - definately would not recommend taking children/family 3] If I'm not in - the telephone message stated that the room is unoccupied instead of voicemail svc. for caller to leave messages - operator will not take msg from callers - misses several important business calls. Expedia.com misrepresented this hotel and once reservation is booked ... it's a night mare process to change hotel regardless if the hotel condition is very poor [misrepresented]. Expedia's representative not very helpful in assisting w/change - spent almost 2 hours on the phone. Once changed hotel - full charges for both hotels [old and new] are billed to credit card though only partial stay on 'dirty' hotel. It took me another 3 hour call [includes several call backs only to escalate to supervisor] to resolve the overcharging issue. Expedia neither apologize nor accept responsibility on this matter [especially double billing] - I had to theaten to dispute my AMEX transaction prior to supervisor accepted the escalation. Poor service from Expedia - this would be my last w/Expedia.com. Customer be aware ... once you booked your reservation ... you are pretty much stuck w/it ... regardless if the property is misrepresented in Expedia site [pictures display not the same as actual].

Upon our arrival at the hotel around 8am we were so tired from our flight and new that we would not be able to check in until 12noon or later than that. So we asked the front desk agent as we approached the front office, she had about 2 people in line checking out she immediately acknowledged us by telling us she would help us as soon as possible. What a relief and i knew that we were going to enjoy the rest of our stay. As she was done checking out some guest, she kindly helped us and explained that normally check in time is at 3pm but she has a available room that she can check us into. We were checked into a room on the 37th floor. Beautiful room and the view was spectacular. Room was very clean the bed very comfortable. All in all the service is what Awwwwed my husband and i. Like other reviews say this is not a 5 star hotel but you know what the service of the friendly staff makes up for that. Way to go you all made our vacation very relaxing and enjoyable. Looking forward to seeing you all again next year.......
