If it weren't for the uncomfortable bed with the thin vinyl covered mattress, I'd give this place a 4.
The location and value were great. Right across the street from the canal, and a very short walk (5 min or so) from the beach. There are plenty of amenities very nearby - including a small grocery store, an ABC store, and several restaurants and bars.
The room was clean, albiet a bit dingy. The decor could definitely use an update - but, it was perfectly adequate.
Some of the highlights for us included:
- free internet access (we brought a laptop)
- the pool/hottub area
- short walk to the beach
- price (we only paid around $80/night, plus $8/night for in/out parking - directly from their website)
- free breakfast
- short walk to the beach
The breakfast isn't anything to write home about - just some mini-doughnuts, mini croissants, canned pinapple, toast, and yogurt. But, it held us over for a bit each morning. We gave the breakfast lady a couple bucks tip each morning, and she didn't seem to mind as much that we were pigging out on the croissants. :)
We found the bar downstairs to be quite convenient, with decent food. The fish & chips was pretty good, with a generous portion of fish. They also have a cheap happy hour 2 times a night (4-7PM, and then one later...)
