For tourists headed to Dubai, there are a few tourist board-type resources. These websites are all written for the visitor new to the Arab country and looking for activities, hotels, and the like.
At Dubai Tourism, you can search for hotels, apartments, and shopping. The extensive list of shopping malls (and shopping is big business here, so bring the credit cards) includes phone numbers, location and hours. There is a listing of “major events” in Dubai at any given time, and an opportunity to subscribe to a weekly newsletter. You can watch Dubai videos, see a live webcam and listen to live radio.
Dubai City Guide offers a bit more commercial -- but still helpful -- look at the city. You can see what children’s events are offered in Dubai and perhaps coordinate those to your trip with children. Dubai has an active nightlife and there’s an extensive listing of nightclubs with phone numbers, locations, hours and in some cases, reviews from other visitors.
If Dubai is just a part of your visit to the United Arab Emirates, be sure to also visit this tourist site for the UAE. Click on “tourist guide” for information on Dubai and other cities in the area you might like to visit.
