MOBILES:- The cheapest way is to take an old, unlocked handset with you & buy an Egyptian sim card; in April ’08, they cost 20LE. One can get credit at 25LE, 50LE, or 100LE & top up during the holiday if necessary, but the credit does go a long way. If you haven’t got an old spare handset, you can buy one out there; there are numerous shops & booths.

Ask people back home to text to the UK  phone, so they aren’t paying any more than normal, then reply on the Egyptian one, or phone them with that.

Two shops in Na’ama are near the top end of His Majesty the King of Bahrain Street, opposite side to the Camel Bar & near the end where Jolie Ville Resort is. You may wish to check out these sites: www.mycherrymobile.com; check out the deals & prices or put in “global sim” on google, or www.gosim.com. http://stores.ebay.co.uk/experimental...

Carphone warehouse do a global sim too; it's free when you topped up with £10 airtime.

INTERNET CAFES:- There are several around Na’ama Bay & they’re far cheaper then the hotel facilities.
