The rise in tourism in the Guanacaste province of Costa Rica has been steep in recent years. Today, Tamarindo puts up as potentially the top contender in the country as a destination point. The pristine beaches and laid back atmosphere is luring in people of all ages. This rise has also prompted large resorts to sprout and older hotels to renovate, making Tamarindo fit for the whole family.
Of course the beaches will provide hours of fun for all ages, but the beauty of Costa Rica's jungles are equally entertaining. Parque Nacional Rincon de la Vieja gives tourists a firsthand look at the ecosystem of this region. But aside from that, the park is home to gogeous waterfalls, hot springs, and even a volcano! The park is an all-day excursion and great place to picnic or horseback ride.
The other national park in this region is the Parque Nacional Marino las Baulas which is a safehaven for leatherback turtles. The best time to see these turtles is between the months of October through February.
